Classes & Community Groups

We are passionate about helping people navigate pregnancy, birth, infant feeding and parenting. Everyone deserves to be educated about their options and choices, empowered in their bodies, and trusting themselves as they navigate this journey. Our in-person classes are taught in Saxapahaw by Hannah, a Lamaze-certified educator, and Heather, an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, both with years and years of experience supporting families during birth and postpartum. We look forward to sharing in this journey with you!

This Childbirth class will teach you and your partner(s) about the process of late pregnancy, labor, and birth and can bring you confidence and calm to approach this life-changing experience. While this course is built for folks planning a home birth, we also cover hospital transfers and interventions that you may encounter. Regardless of where you birth, the process requires relaxation and coping skills, and knowledge about your own body and how it works. This class has a focus on home birth but is valuable no matter the setting.

Our goal is to teach anatomy, physiology, bodily autonomy, and mastery of your own relaxation. We will practice non-pharmacological comfort measures and we will go over how to navigate the hospital system while retaining your own autonomy.

We will talk about what to expect in postpartum healing, how to establish a good support system, and herbs for pregnancy and postpartum. Explore different feeding methods, feeding positions, tools/products, common feeding challenges, and ways partners and family can be supportive of your goals.
